Asset Metadata

Information describing each asset in an audiovisual collection may exist in the form of an inventory or database.  This so-called metadata may also appear on labels and in slates.  Furthermore, as assets are transferred and digitized, additional metadata such as run-time and track information can be captured.

Asset metadata is of critical importance to the discovery of assets through a search.  Searching will only return satisfactory results when accurate and complete metadata is associated with each asset.

Video Transfer captures and records all metadata generated during the transfer process.  We also transfer information contained in existing database and inventory records.  Captured and preexisting metadata is transferred into Digital Asset Management systems for search and discovery as well as embedded into transferred assets.
