“Preserving an audiovisual collection means more than rescuing obsolete and deteriorating media from oblivion.”
We follow a thorough planning process with our archival clients to make sure all their preservation and access needs are met. Assets are carefully identified and evaluated prior to digitization and all condition issues are properly addressed. Metadata — such as that contained on labels or slates — is accurately captured and recorded.
Digitization is done with carefully aligned equipment using the shortest and most optimal signal path. A rigorous Quality Control process insures that files are complete and free from digital errors. Digital optical as well as magnetic recordings can be provided to accompany digital files.
